BKSS is happening at the Brooklyn Community Arts & Media High School in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The Skillshare is FREE to the public (with a $10 suggested donation). NO pre-registration is necessary, but classes are first come first served (with only 25 spots per class). BKSS is the brainchild of H+D artist Meg Wachter.

Melodia Women’s Choir of NYC
Called "riveting" by the New York Times, Melodia creates, explores, and performs women's choral music while promoting opportunities for women composers and musicians. Program includes the world premiere of Soli Deo Gloria, by performer/ composer Becca Stevens and Ave Maria by Joan Szymko. Also Benjamin Britten (Missa Brevis in D), Francis Poulenc (Litanies à la Vierge Noire), David Conte (A Hope Carol), David Willcocks (Psalm 150), and Gabriel Fauré (Ave verum).

A one-of-a-kind, three-day musical adventure, Ladies Rock Camp brings together women from different walks of life and all levels of musical experience for a weekend of instrument lessons, songwriting, band practice, and workshops, culminating in a showcase concert at a music venue in NYC. All proceeds go the the financial aid fund of the renowned Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, which allows young women from low-income households to rock at low or no cost.
